Energy efficiency is the most cost-effective green resource available to utilities and customers.Ipswich Utilities Department is pleased to announce the expansion of our Residential Energy Efficiency Programs designed to benefit our local community.

ENERGY STAR Homes – Residential New Construction
Ipswich’s Residential ENERGY STAR Homes Pilot Program provides technical service and rebates for homeowners and builders to construct ENERGY STAR (Tier I or Tier II) qualified homes. Eligible projects include all residential new construction and gut-rehab projects in single-family and multifamily (5+unit) buildings in the Ipswich service territory.
The primary benefits of ENERGY STAR homes includes lower utility costs, increased comfort, and improved indoor air quality. There is no up-front cost to the customer and the costs associated with a standard HERS analysis and rating are funded through the program.

HELPS - Residential Existing Homes and Appliance / Lighting Rebates
Ipswich continues to offer customer free home energy audits, weatherization services and rebates on qualified Energy Star appliances through our Home Energy Lost Prevention Services (HELPS) program for residential customers. Ipswich appliance rebates include:

MuniSolar – Residential HELPS Photovoltaic Program
Ipswich’s existing HELPS Photovoltaic (PV) Program, as part of the larger MuniSolar initiative, provides assistance to customers in helping them understand and install photovoltaic (PV) energy systems on residential homes. The program provides incentives for the installation of PV panels and inverters installed by certified PV installers, where preference is given to Massachusetts manufactured equipment and certified installers.
