The Department of Public Works' mission is to plan, build, operate, maintain and support transportation, parks and cemeteries to sustain natural systems essential to a safe and comfortable life and afterlife in Ipswich. The Department works with town employees and residents to ensure that the present and future way of life in Ipswich is consistent with their necessities and desires to want to continue to work and live in Ipswich.
  1. Town Wide Crack Sealing

    The DPW has contracted with Indus for the sealing of cracks throughout Town. The work is scheduled to start on Thursday May 23, 2019,
  2. Bulky Item Fee

    Curbside pickup of a bulky item requires a $10 sticker. Residents with curbside trash pickup are allowed to put out ONE bulky item (for example: sofa, chair, mattress, box spring or carpet -- no appliances or electronics) per week. Read on...
  3. Route 1 Paving update

    The State will begin work this week by installing message boards and permanent traffic signs. Any questions pertaining to the work should be directed to MassDOT resident engineer Carmen Ilardi at carmen.ilardi@state.ma.us.
