The Library Board of Trustees consists of nine members, all of whom are appointed by the Ipswich Board of Selectman for three-year terms on a staggered basis.

The Ipswich Open Space Committee is a volunteer committee that meets monthly to pursue town goals related to the conservation and protection of open space properties throughout town.

Planning Board
The Ipswich Planning Board is authorized under the Massachusetts General Laws to regulate the laying out and construction of ways in subdivisions and to insure the safety, convenience and welfare of the present and future residents of Ipswich.

Public Safety Facility Committee
The charge of the committee is to identify and evaluate suitable location(s) for a combined public safety facility and make recommendations to the Selectmen; to recommend an appropriate sum to conduct a feasibility study; to work with the Town Manager and town staff to obtain OPM and Architectural services; and to design, construct and commission a facility suitable to present and future public safety needs of Ipswich.

School Audit Ad Hoc Committee
The Committee is charged with the responsibility of identifying specific areas of the school’s operation and organization to be audited for efficiencies, cost saving measures and synergies.

Select Board (Formerly Board of Selectmen)
As the elected chief executive body for the Town of Ipswich, the Select Board's duties include appointing the Town Manager and many committees, issuing certain licenses and permits, enforcing special sections of the town bylaws, and regulating the public ways.

Shade Tree Beautification Committee
The Ipswich Shade Tree and Beautification Committee is an entirely volunteer effort, made up of concerned Ipswich residents, landscape professionals, Garden Club members and 2 selectmen who recommend, recognize, and implement actions that beautify and enhance the town of Ipswich and its quality of life.
