About the Council
The Ipswich Cultural Council is one of 329 Local Cultural Councils (LCC) in the state of Massachusetts. Councils operate under the umbrella of the Massachusetts Cultural Council and are funded by the state. Each council consists of municipally appointed volunteers who disseminate grants to arts and humanities projects, individuals and organizations according to MCC guidelines. “The LCC program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation. It enriches the cultural life of all cities and towns in Massachusetts through grant funding, information and organizational support to artists and arts organizations.” Funding for each town is based on population.
The Ipswich Cultural Council is dedicated to fostering dynamic and diverse local arts and ensuring that the arts thrive by providing vision, leadership, capacity building services, advocacy, funding, education, and information.
LCC Grant Management: Applications are available on the MCC website as of September 1st and deadline for submission is October 15th. Click HERE to learn more about the application process.
Annual Art Show:
Ipswich Cultural Council hosts a non-juried Art Show & Sale each fall. This is open to any Ipswich resident. Details and applications for artists will be on our Facebook page and in the Ipswich Library by mid August. This year the show weekend will be October 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The show is held in the Town Hall Gym.
Support Community Artists and Organizations
We support and facilitate with publicity and volunteers where needed within the community for performances and programing, especially those that we have funded through a grant.
